Yanks at Anaheim
Gorgeous day, ugly game. But how many future Hall of Famers can you count in
this photo?
The Future of Entertainment & Media
Mark my words that if we shortsightedly protect a business model which
does not reflect current market conditions and the further progression of
modern technology we’ll be far worse off in the long run.”
Excerpt from a great article I just ready by Barrett Garese on the past, present, and future of media and content distribution. You can read Scarcity, Experience, And A New Seat At An Old Table here.
Man Vs. Recession
Here’s a little ditty I shot for my Director buddy Matt Duggan. Matt asked me to be his Director of Photography, as well as to help Produce some episodes. In one weekend, we shot three episodes of the online series he created, Man Vs.
Budgets and equipment allocations are very barebones for these episodes. By stripping away the shoe polish and charging ourselves to shoot and finish quickly, we are able to spend most of our energy creating. To prepare for this episode, I watched a couple silent and early-era films. Then I put my own spin on Floyd’s death by opening the iris as he went into the light. That’s the type of magic that can only happen when you’ve got it all framed up, day-of. It was a happy little discovery, the kind I love.
Ara & Poppy Doin’ Work
My dad sent this one to me with the following caption: “Ara Vatche and Vatche Hagop worked together today and fixed the drain at Saddle Acres Schools by using two 60 lb bags of concrete. Real men work without shirts on.”
